Our Work

The Washington Patient Safety Coalition collaborates with patient safety leaders across the state and the nation, sharing the latest developments and best practices to improve patient safety and reduce medical errors. We do this through Coalition-sponsored events such as all-day conferences and monthly WebEx teleconferences that tackle various practical aspects of patient safety and medical error reduction. In addition, participants work together to create strategic plans that address targeted areas through educational initiatives and public campaigns. The Steering Committee provides strategic and operational leadership to the Coalition.

Strength in numbers

The more members the Coalition has, the more effective we can be. Because we share information in a legally protected, confidential setting, you can learn from your peers and share helpful, useful information — from mistakes to avoid, to new systems to apply. Improving safety and decreasing errors requires the active participation of a wide range of committed individuals and organizations. Funding for all activities is supported by annual fees paid by our members.
