My Medicine List updates!

Seeking presenters! Promoting the use of personal medicine list is a high-priority activity of the Coalition. WPSC is looking for speakers for two webinars in 2015 who can present on the use of personal medicine lists – the importance of such a list to patient safety; examples of programs or efforts to get patients and families to use them; effects on safety; and/or related topics. This is a great opportunity to share the work you are doing with the community. Webinars are always on Wednesdays from noon -1 p.m. Pacific Time. Attendees typically are health care providers, usually in positions of responsibility related to safety in various settings.

Are you interested in helping the Coalition and the patient safety community raise awareness of the importance of personal medicine lists? This group, chaired by Jenny Arnold with the Washington State Pharmacy Association, meets monthly by phone and welcomes new members, especially (but not limited to) those in ambulatory settings and people from outside the Everett-Seattle area.

We are also always on the lookout for opportunities to share our resources and information – health fairs, community meetings, classes, and other settings. Do you know of something coming up? We have materials and speakers for various audiences: patients and families, consumer groups, health care students and professionals.

For more information about any of these, please contact Miriam Marcus-Smith, WPSC Program Director, at msmith@qualityhealth.org, or 206-682-2811 ext. 370.
